inafuneWith the resignation of Keiji Inafune, Capcom lost a talented employee and a man with a vision. The company, however, does not believe that the loss would be of any detriment. In fact, they don't believe that Inafune's departure will have any effect on operations at all.

So says Capcom in a statement to Kotaku:

Capcom has been working hard on restructuring its operations over the past few years in order to build a development organization that is not dependent on any single individual. Therefore, we do not believe Mr. Inafune's departure will have an effect on our business operations. Regarding specific titles, we have already assigned new and talented Producers to those titles which have already been announced and their further development is progressing smoothly.

Instead of just getting somebody to fill in the vacant seat, Capcom will be reshuffling positions within the organization. This includes the newly-promoted corporate officer, Jun Takeuchi.

The resignation will be effective by the end of November, but since Inafune still has lots of outstanding vacation time, he'll be out before the end of this month.

I guess the higher up at Capcom finally decided to throw this worthless piece of trash out on the street after all.

The one news is Inafune finally get to realize his dream, living in the West and make games for them. It's too bad the good folks at Capcom don't share that same dream.

All businesses will claim that they're moving steadily without their core talents to cover up the fact they lost a great portion of their foundation and progress. It's a shield to protect themselves from showing mercy to the walking employee, and a sword from receiving pity from the consumers. Think of it, would YOU announce that your company has lost a leg to a bunch of stock holders? I think not!

"does not have an effect on our business operations" yeah but it will have an effect on the quality of your games.

Jokerrules...worthless piece of trash? I sincere hope this is a joke that I'm missing the point to. Keiji's one of the few left from the old days who has the slightest clue what to do in this idustry. Let's face it. This industry has gone to hell.

I'm not joking man... I agreed with everyone that his games from the 80's were awesome and fun to play and I love them because they are fun to play.

Based on what? on Inafune and your opinion? Have you played every single games that come out in Japan? So you know this for a fact?

Sure there some bad games but there also very good games... Like GT 5 that is coming out this holiday... Let me guess GT 5 is gonna sucks too cause it made by Japs, even thought GT 5 will have the most advance graphical system than any other GT games but it's still gonna sucks cause it's made by Japs.

You're an idiot.

There goes capcom's Quality control... the games he worked on will feel soul less with out him. DAMN! I hope he creates his own studio or gets to keep a few of his creations from capcom.

lol like we need anymore dark void and bionic commando failures. do your research on the moron before you defend him. at least, Jokerrules and some other people know that he wasn't a Capcom "hero".

well, the vision of this man is that current game industry sucks and I agree, I think we are getting closer to something like the pre-NES era scenario games are popular now, but big names companies are very repetitive now with boring super productions, they now buy little new companies to keep alive they have lot of bucks, but people can get tired on mass soon of this keeps

ZakFair and Jokerrules are full of shit.
He did allot at Capcom, Mega Man which basically made the company, Dead Rising, allot of the RE titles he had a hand with along with Mikami.

He was a the Miyamoto of Capcom.
Do your own research dumbasses.

Now Mega Man will never get the story that links up to the X series and so forth. That pisses me off a bit.
