Activision has officially announced the latest entry of the long running Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops. Developed by  the award-winning team from Treyarch, the upcoming game promises to "take players behind enemy lines in an entirely new chapter in the groundbreaking and record-setting, No. 1 first-person action series of all-time." According to Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch, Black Ops will bring the most intense experience possible for all CoD fans:

“We can’t wait for our community to experience Call of Duty: Black Ops. We have focused our entire studio on this game, with dedicated multiplayer, single-player and co-op teams creating the most intense, gripping and riveting experience possible for our fans on all fronts.”

Rumored to be set in Vietnam, the game is scheduled to be released on November 9, 2010. A teaser trailer will air tonight at GTTV, stay tuned.

Thanks to Ben E. and to matthew for the tips!

Treyarch has been taking care of call of duty (COD3 CODWAW) during IW off years. Even if IW didn't break up I assumed that Treyarch was making the next one.
