Black Ops glitch abusers be warned, Treyarch is looking at you!

For those of you who are considering exploiting any of the in-game glitches in Call of Duty: Black Ops, beware! Treyarch has recently released a statement that they are going to wield the ban hammer soon "for anyone who thinks he is clever by abusing any glitches" of the game. According to the game’s multiplayer director, David Vonderhaar:

"I got Twitbombed today from dozens of people the same 2 links. Some are people using old dashboards or old versions of the game. Others are claiming victory on old dev builds that don't even connect to the version of Xbox Live that you use. Others are reproducible issues that we will hotfix or patch just like we said we would. In essence, we likely know more about it than you do from watching a video on Vimeo or YouTube."

"What many of these people want is to be Internet nerd famous. I'm not going to make them famous and you shouldn't either. Internet hysteria from normal people is exactly what they want and that's how many people reacted today. You gave them exactly what they want."

"Given the opportunity, I'd personally wield the ban hammer for anyone who thinks he is clever by abusing any glitches. Good think I don't have the opportunity that often and we actually have a constructive, measured, and well-managed live ops team."

"We said we would support the game. We are going to support it. I've gone out of my way using my own limited, personal time to try and get to know about 8000 (and growing) as best I can. The last thing I want is for you to think that because I don't talk about it ... that we don't know or care about it. We didn't spend 2 years of our lives to toss it all in the trash in one day."

"I thank all of you who sent in polite, constructive messages without the hysterics. So here is my one and only public statement about it."

"I'm not going to talk about it publicly. We are disinterested in making mini-celebrities out of douche-bags. You better think twice before you glitch. You never know who in your game doesn't like glitchers who reports you and saves the game in their File Share and tells us about it."

"Our forum admins and VIPs along with JD_2020 (Community Manager) will be managing the communication directly."

So there you have it folks, just a little reminder from Treyarch for cheaters out there. Now back to the game.

Right, but that all depends on how we define glitching. Using mods or external tools to hack the console into triggering a glitch is a whole world apart from the MW2 glitch of simply pulling out a care package marker when you run to go really fast.

If anyone ever got banned for doing the latter, then I'd be pissed.

Correction, glitching doesn't ruin a game for some. It ruins a game for everyone that doesn't abuse glitches.

People who cheat are in the minority but they f*ck up what could be an enjoyable experience for anyone playing against them, so if you want to cheat the game on single player then it's your game so go ahead, but if you think because you bought the game that entitles you to cheat against honest people then you should get some warnings, then a temporary ban, because the online service is seperate from the physical copy of the game that you own so the developer has every right to ban the s*it out of anyone breaking the rules.

Why is there no patch for this Sh.t like Servers with unvisible Host's and so on (Speedhack...)??

maybe it's because i've only played on my friends game for a couple hours but... what are the glitches? i heard about the commando thing but it never happened with mine. and frame rate issues that's noticeable but how would you exploit that? basically i don't want to do something on accident i thought was legit

they need to fix the glitches in the game and stop wasting our time with worthless statements. if the game wasnt this broken (with missing programming codes) then they wouldnt have to worry about people abusing the glitch system. to me this statement by treyarch is obsolete. FIX THE GAME!.

Yeah but this isn't some 25 year old 8 bit game you can print all the code out on a sheet of A4 and see what's wrong, so people have to realise when they start bitching about getting better graphics and improved AI it is still just humans coding these, and the better the game, the more glitches there is and games would never be released if you start tracking down every bug before release.

Fuck Treyarch! It's their fault there are glitches in their game. How can they ban people for their fuck up? Shoulda spent less time on zombies and dead ops arcade, and more time on fixing multiplayer knifing, hit detection, spawning, ect.

I don't think Treyarch will put the ban hammer down to easily. Also, they are fixing all the glitches up pretty fast so people aren't really getting the chance to abuse them. The zombie mode on black ops is an utter joke along with the W@W map pack falure to be release to the general public. just go to menu and free your self from the chair and go to the computer and write:(foobar).
then "enter" and then Gives a strange message ("Fee Fie Foe Foo!") im not sure about bieng banned but that...strange
