Bethesda clarifies Brink release date |
Listed in: PS3, Xbox 360, PC Gaming Tags: Bethesda Softworks, GameStop, release, Splash Damage

A GameStop promo for Brink recently proclaimed a September 7 US launch for the Splash Damage-developed FPS. Publisher Bethesda, however, has said that that's not entirely accurate. Here's what a Bethesda rep told gaming news blog Destructoid:
Often times retailers will assign a release date for a game that falls within the game’s announced launch window. While we have announced that Brink is due out in Fall 2010, we have yet to announce an official release date for the game. Until we have announced the release date, all other dates can be considered speculative.
Brink features team-based multiplayer missions for up to eight players. There's also this gameplay system called the SMART (Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain) Freerunning System that lets players navigate the environment similar to how Faith moved in Mirror's Edge. The game will be available for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

I love movement that resembles parkour, so I'm really interested in this SMART system! Let's see if the devs can pull it off.
