More than a year after Atari brought Ghostbusters back into the spotlight with the multiplatform Ghostbusters: The Video Game, the publishers announce that they'll be continuing their push for the franchise with a brand new game. A downloadable this time.

The new game, dubbed Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, will once again put you in the shoes of a rookie in the ghost-catching business. Your office? All the haunted spots in New York City. Worry not, you might be a new recruit, but you'll be equipped with the masters' tools of the trade - the Proton Stream, Plasma Inductor, and the Fermion Shock, among them.

“Following the success of Ghostbusters: The Video Game, we are committed to continuing the lore of the Ghostbusters franchise with Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime,” says Atari president and CEO, Jim Wilson. “In Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, we are introducing an entirely new look and gameplay experience on digital platforms that will impress new and loyal Ghostbusters fans alike.”

if it comes in the ten-dollar bracket, i fear it might end up like Kick-ass. if they go for the 15-dollar margin, maybe they can pack more juice into this one, and i'm more than willing to pay five extra bucks for that jump in quality
