Ubisoft has confirmed the next iteration of the Assasin's Creed franchise, and it will be called Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. After a leaked copy of the games placeholder art surfaced over the internet yesterday, the company quickly put out the flame and confirmed the image is legit. The back cover of the leaked box art reads:

"Live and breathe as Ezio, now a legendary master assassin, in his struggle against the Templar order. Lead your own brotherhood of Assassins and strike at the heart of the enemy. Rome."

"And for the first time, take part in an innovative multiplayer layer allowing you to embody an assassin of your choosing and define their killing style."

"A never-before-seen online multiplayer experience."

"Lead your own brotherhood of assassins, as Ezio, and conquer Rome."

The placeholder also confirms that the game will be released on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It also mentions that there will be an exclusive multiplayer character for anyone who pre-orders the game at GameStop. Ubisoft is set to announce Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood next week. Stay tuned.

i think you are right. AC2 is one of my favorite games, but a new game within a year? i hope its not like MW2. i play AC for story not multiplayer... i mean i hope one doesnt strain the other. i really hope it is a good game.

# well they dont have to do muchGuest 2010-05-05 22:15
all they probably did was fix anything wrong with ac2 and add multiplayer but beside that this is going to be ac2 with a different story maybe a new place or 2 and that is all

OMG :D I can't wait. I knew they were planning on a multiplayer story/game but I didn't know it was going to be announced any time soon. Best news ever :) apart from hearing Red Dead Redemption will have co-op missions and that Peace Walker might eventually come to the PS3. Heh.

Exclusive characters wouldn't make sense in a story driven game.

But it is much logical for the online/multi-player/mission part.

Ubisoft had said there would be a second game featuring ezio... I'm happy this will bring MP to the AC pie.

Ok, is it just me, or is anyone else far more interested about what's going on with Desmond and the others in the future...?

I'm always really excited to see what's happening with Desmond and the others, and was actually really upset when the second game had much less of them.
But I'm still interested in ANYTHING that's happening, I'm not all that picky.

I'm really excited for another installment, but also nervous about the time, like others. There were issues for the second game they couldn't address because they had to churn it out so fast.

But I'm always excited to see anything else going on in the AC universe! I just hope they're not making any mistakes!

this is going to be in rome and you get to choose a variety of characters in the big city. Online multiplayer is templars and assassin's in this one it better be good and they should change to free fighting not like counter and locking on a couple of people
