Namco Bandai is bringing the Ace Combat series back to consoles. With the announcement of Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, they're promising a game-changing rebirth for those willing to fly the unfriendly skies again.

 

Details on the game are still scarce, but it seems that multiplayer will be among the features included in the PS3 and Xbox 360 release. They've also released this awesome little debut trailer:

 

 

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is slated for release next year on PS3 and Xbox 360.

I haven't played an Ace Combat game in ages. That trailer is a success though. It really makes me want to play this.

Wow... I don't know what to say. That is definitely not the same AC that I love and remember.

I'm interested to see where this is going. If it's going to be a rail shooter like After Burner, then I'm going to be slightly disappointed.

I think it only looked like AfterBurner when it the pilot was trying to evade the pilot behind him. It also looked like hitting or holding Triangle changes the camera at points, like it did a missle cam, and it did a chase cam.

AC4 was my favorite. Oddly enough I still call it Air Combat. I'm glad their finally including real cities (They mention Miami)...

I hope there is an rpg element like in the last ones, buying aircraft and stuff, and not to mention able to barrel role. Ace combat 5 was bad for that.

Ace combat 4 was the best version-ps2.

lets see whats going on next year... hopefully not like they did with ace combat 6 for xbox and they ssaid they wore bringing it to ps3 and in the end they didnt :-|

This does look interesting but it doesn't look like past Ace Combat games. I guess this trailer is how it looks during gameplay. Notice the scene with the triangle button on screen and the cross hairs during the scenes wiith the gun from the helicopter? I wonder with the Modern Warfare craze, Namco is wanting a piece of the pie. I hope this game is good because I miss a good Ace Combat game.

This is...disappointing. It's almost as if Project Aces think they have HAWX to live up to now, even though HAWX is the one following Aces' standard.

i hope this video is about a controllable cinematic sequence(a la heavy rain) rather than the normal gameplay. I've been waiting for a ps3 AC for ages and I hope their not trying to "casualize" this game.
