3DS, PSP-4000 out in Japan this year? |
Listed in: PSP, Nintendo DS Tags: 3ds, Japan, Nintendo, psp-4000, release, rumor, Sony
Ó
Nintendo may not be very forthcoming about the 3DS's official release dates, but a Japanese retailer reckons it'll be out in the region this year. That, and the PSP-4000.

The retailer in question, GeoNet, has both handhelds listed as coming in stock within the year. The 3DS of course, is Nintendo's new glasses-free 3D handheld. The PSP-4000 is unannounced, but this isn't the first time we've heard rumors about it.
Siliconera notes though, that something seems off about the retailer's calendar. Pokemon Black & White is listed for an October release even though Nintendo has just recently dated it for September.

Not that i dont like the design of the go it is just missing some stuff...
1. User changeable battery
2. umd drive
3. ms pro duo slot m2 is junk
4. no touch screen interface to allow use of music player and ipod ported apps (i refer to the psp mini's)
5. Drop the prepriatary connector you put on the go big middle finger to the few who owned the usb addons japan got...
6. wireless b/g/N doesnt take any more room than the chip you got in the go and has better energy effency thus longer battery life when using wifi than current systems.
I dont know weather or not to count being able to pair a ps3 controller to it as giving it a second analog stick r2,l2 and l,r3 if so great make it powerful enough to port ps2 games to it as the psx games are ported. Then make some sort of dock to do the tv out so using a controller is not awkward

I stated what I felt the psp go is missing in the list above.
The end is a point i had in thinking about how you can pair a ps3 controller with your psp go and the functionality it should have. As well as a little bit about what to do with the go when you choose to use this feature.
However anyone who thinks this idea is stupid doesn't realize are you going to hold the go while you play with a ps3 controller or sit it down on a counter staring at the tiny screen with the controller.
Following that im taking the portability out of the psp i might as well play my ps3 but you cant play all your psp games on the ps3. This is where the docking and pairing the ps3 controller comes in.
To pair a ps3 controller would solve many compatibility issues with ps1 and ps2 games on the psp the controller would have the proper number of buttons and analog sticks the machine would not be dependent on the battery to run the ps2 emulation im thinking that the ps2 is just a tiny bit more powerful than the current psp at full power. So for the psp 4000 or psp2 or what ever is next make it more powerful and allow the system to operate in 2 modes docked and mobile where it plays psp games and some ps1 games while mobile with the speed of the system tuned more for battery life. Then we dock it grab a ps3 controller and play it at full speed better preformance in psp and ps1 games and ps2 games run well.

look at computers for instance
mine is a 3ghz dual core (e7600)
hd 4670
and this strugles to emulate metal gear solid 2 at more than 14fps
i very much doubt if a computer cpu can just play it that one that will fit in the psp could

doesn't have the resources Sony does...
How did they fit PS1 on to the psp?
Sony MADE the PS2.....
They can Port it to the PSP...
Emulation is only about the hardware...
What use is it if you have a i7? if the software is badly coded?
The software must also be well coded...

no 2nd nub...less sales...
2nd Nub...MORE sales!!!
Doesn't take a Damn Genius...
And..,
"idk why people want a new psp so bad with double analog, like people really needs then, you dont see 3ds with double analog."
What?!
"you dont see 3ds with double analog.."
What BS is that?!!!

And add a 3D touchscreen, 3 cameras 2 microphones and a haircutter while you are at it. Doesnt matters if noone uses it, right?
Adding a 2nd analog nub would separate the market and no game would use it. PSP4000 will likely be a simple cost-reduced model, its not there to get existing users upgrading, that will be the PSP when it will be released in 2 years or so

and only 1 DOESNT

Sure it would be nicer, and it was an oversight, but it doesn't make any games unplayable.
FPS's suck with 2 nubs also compared to a mouse.
And remind me how many handheld gaming platforms have ever come with 2 nubs?

a STUPID example...
with they even make a nds with TWO SCREENS
AND a TOUCH screen if no handheld ever had it?!
BAD example...

PSP has 2 32bit MIPS processors R4000 and GPU
You cant emulate PS2 on a PSP, but I think you can port any PS2 game to run at PSP...

How many PSP ports have we had?
Monster Hunter
Obscure: The aftermath
Mana Khemia
Disgaea
Insert endless JPN Gundam PS2 ports
And that's the just the first 5 off the top of my head.
Besides, there are plenty of good games that aren't ports. They just have really neat graphics.
