Not everyone's keen on getting in on the fray of the console wars, so it turns out. 2K Marin creative director Jordan Thomas claims he's not a fan of this war and thinks that frankly, it's all kinda silly.
"There's a cognitive effect known as 'confirmation bias' which leads people to latch onto conclusions that would support their preferences and ignore data which doesn't," he explained.
"From a development perspective, the console wars are a bit silly; our target is consistency, and it's always kind of sad to see people throwing their energy into 'platform partisanship', because it seems to flood the critical channels and drown out other creative discourse."
But if he had to choose what platform would he consider to be the best, he replies: "Coleco Adam. Everyone else is really, really dumb."
2K Marin is the developer of the critically-acclaimed BioShock franchise.

this is specifically true of the PS3, its hardware remains untapped, because of X360/PC development being so radically different.

Sorry to bust your bubble but RROD is not dead. I had a jasper(aka the unbreakable) console replaced because of that same reason.

That is 100% false. There are MILLIONS of RRoD capable machines still in homes.
Anyway, there is no REAL WAR. The idea of "console war" is just fun discussion between people.
As for the companies they all strive for market share. That's it. Whoever provides a likable service to the most people wins the market share. Nintendo happens to be in 1st place right now. That will change, it always does.

It is getting better but surely it hasn't vanished.
Just like PS3 YLoD is overhyped. less than 2% of the PS3s get the YLoD. You should know that MS is really good at manipulating people's opinions. There was an article somewhere how MS created bad reputation for competitior's products, Apple for example.

I understand how stupid the war is but still... If I spend 500$ for a console which I know has the best hardware, I expect the games to run the best on it too.
And all the idiots going "xyz suckz lolol !!!!zxy rulezzzzz1337" just get more and more annyoing over time. It gets really hard to ignore them after a while...

Honestly, the fanboy wars seem to be over for everyone but those Sony diehards who have to run into every thread/forum/comments with their little pee-pee all stiff to make stupid accusations that they cant back up with facts.
Want facts? Google squaretrade, look up their actual /factual/ information they did over several years documenting the reliability of consoles. Guess what, Jaspar chips are just as reliable as the PS3. shocking.
Idiots who want to latch on to their own biases (Much as this article says) to try to vindicate themselves in some 'war' they have no part of (Since none of you losers are developers) should go find a helpful fire to die in, hopefully with much pain.
Speaking of Bioshock, I'm going to go back to playing Bioshock 2 now. Hosers.

Yes, i am a Sony Fanboy - but i have read ALL the facts, and i don't (usually) enforce my opinions on everyone else - i just kick back and Enjoy my PS3. (oh, and i would get a 360 too, but only because i can Hack it and "Backup" M$ games)

PS3s are great, Xboxs are great. All have advantages/disadvantages.
MS needs to get their hardware under control and Sony needs to include HDMI cables with the slims.

It's way better this way, it's the only way to make thigs get better, to have a good competition. And it's not like buying 2 consoles is THAT costly..

And as far as exclusives go, like I've said before I bought my ps3 almost strictly for MGS4 (not to say a ton of great exclusives haven't come out since), but the reason I bought a 360 was for Gears of war as well (same scenario)
The only thing that loses out, is the chunk of change in my purse...
