WoW mount and pet make millions for Blizzard in a day |
Listed in: MMORPG Tags: Blizzard, World of Warcraft
Ó

The Celestial Steed mount was priced at US$ 25 (€ 20), while the Lil' XT pet was priced at US$ 10 (€ 10). Pretty cheap, yes. But if you have tens of thousands of rabid fans lining up to procure these items, then what you get instead is one big heap of cash pile.
Doing simple math, if you multiply those prices by some 140,000 people wanting to get their hands on it, the result of the equation is one big fat paycheck for Blizzard -- somewhere around US$ 1.4 to US$ 3.5 million in revenue, to be precise. And that's just in a matter of hours, mind you.
So were you one of those people who made Blizzard happy today?

If they enjoy it THAT much then it isn't throwing it away.
You pay $15 a month to play the game, it's because you like it and get enjoyment. What's wrong with enjoying a mount you payed for?

To be honest, WoW is waste of life and money. My friends all regret ever getting into it and are jealous that i never got sucked in. While they were gaming, i was going to school and going out with friends... But the fact that people will pay 25 bucks for a glass-like horse to ride ... is PATHETIC

The average amount of time a kid obsesses over his Christmas toy is about 3 days before he/she/it moves on to the next shiny new toy, I give this 3 weeks before people start clambering for something new.
