World of Tanks open beta closing in

Developer Wargaming.net is all set to go to war, and they've got their big guns on the ready. It's going to be a world filled with tanks once World of Tanks launches by March. But before that, the open beta comes first.

The developer has now announced that their WWII RTS MMO game is now ready to enter its open beta test phase on January 27th. The closed beta just wrapped up in Europe and North America, with a reported 260,000 players participating. That gives about 2 million battles waged in their war zones.

The beta test should allow you to check out their new maps for the game, new tanks, as well as their new gameplay modes. If all goes well, World of Tanks should be well on its way out by tailend of March this year.
