A few days ago we further explored the lore of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, exploring the story of the Witch King as he plotted to conquer the lands of Ulthuan. This time we shall take a look at the time when the Witch King's plots came into fruition.
It was the beginning of the end when the sun disappeared and the world was bathed in the light of a red eclipse. It was the signal: the Chaos Lord Tzeentch began his march towards the Empire, with his army of warriors pouring out from the Chaos Wastes.
Despite the Empire's initial panic at the site of the eclipse, the Emperor sends out a regiment to aid the Dwarfs in battle against the Greenskin Army. Sadly, he did not know that the Chaos Lord was on his way to take the Empire.
When the Empire finally became aware of the Chaos Lord, they were left with only a week to prepare. With the Dwarfs doing battle with the the Greenskins, the Emperor was left with little choice but to seek help from the High Elves.
Noble of spirit, the Elves responded promptly. They were in fact already preparing for battle even before the Empire's messenger arrived to ask for help. With this the Phoenix King left his kingdom to aid the human Empire.
It was then that the Witch King, the lord of the Dark Elves, saw the chance that he was waiting for since the beginning. He marched his army into the lands of the High Elves, seeking to take the throne of the Phoenix King.
Realizing the only choice was to gather their armies to defeat these threats against order, the Empire, the Dwarfs and the High Elves convened the Council of Wisdom. Together, they made a pact to fight as one to strike back at their enemies.
Here begins the Age of Reckoning.
