Turbine Inc. has updated yet again the lorebook of the gripping MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. If focus was given to the hobbits the last time, goblins take the spotlight this time around.

To be more specific, what we have for you now is a brief overview of the area Goblin-Town which can be found in the Misty Mountains. This is a very vital place as it is the strongest goblin kingdom that remains in Middle-Earth.

Aside from that, this are also holds a special place as it served as the location that precipitated the climax of J.R.R. Tolkien's creations. Turbine relates the background story of the place:

This subterranean realm was once ruled by an evil creature who called himself the Great Goblin, until he met his doom at the hands of Gandalf the Grey.

Wielding the goblin-bane blade known as Glamdring, the Wizard slew the Great Goblin while rescuing the company of Thorin Oakenshield. This fateful event began a new chapter in the history of Middle-earth.

For it was within Goblin-town that the hobbit Bilbo Baggins fell into the deep cavern where the creature Gollum lived...and his hand fell upon a small golden ring upon which balanced the fate of the world.

The residents of this place avoid the sun and preferred to be hidden in the dark caves. Aside from these, the goblins of this place are a vicious breed, full of greed and hatred for beautiful thing. They are allies with with Wargs from the eastern borders of the Misty Mountains.
