Going where no man has gone before in Cryptic Games' Star Trek Online may set you back a few bucks more than your average video game -- if you're going to splurge on the Collector's Edition, that is. GameStop recently detailed what fans can find in the game's CE.
Aside from the game, the Star Trek Online Collector's Edition will come with a special hardbound version of the game manual that contains artwork from the game. There's also a cast metal version of the in-game communicator badge and three buddy passes that you can use to invite your friends to a free three-day Star Trek Online trial.
In-game freebies include a Red Matter Capacitor, a unique item that charges up and delivers extra energy to all of your ship's equipment for a short time, and uniforms from the Deep Space Nine and The Next Generation TV shows. All of the stuff detailed above will come in a deluxe burshed aluminum package with "futuristic 3dX holography."
The Collector's Edition will ship February 2, 2010 -- the same day as the regular edition -- for US$ 79.99.
