Earlier today we posted a rumor that Infinity Ward is out of the picture for Modern Warfare 3. Now we hear that the studio is working on an MMO.
This is still unsubstantiated, but Destructiod is reporting that IW is recruiting people from Sony Online Entertainment and Blizzard to help get their MMO off the ground. Among the people rumored to be on the studio's list is EverQuest II lead designer Ryan Barker.
Further rumors suggest that Infinity Ward will be running the MMO alongside the Call of Duty franchise's yearly releases. It's not clear if the MMO itself will still be based on the CoD series, but that kinda sounds likely since it fits snugly with Activision's drive to further monetizing the franchise.
