We are still in the run-up to Guild Wars 2's upcoming launch and apparently a lot of speculation has been brewing as to what other character professions will be included in the game. So far, NCSoft has confirmed five of eight Guild Wars 2 professions -- returning Guild Wars professions Elementalist, Warrior, Ranger, and Necromancer as well as one new profession, the Guardian.

The Mesmer and Assassin professions have yet to be officially confirmed, but according to Guild Wars 2 lead designer Eric Flannum and fellow designer Jon Peters, players who prefer these two particular professions won't be disappointed.

"That sort of sneaky anti-hero sort of role - we don't have something that fits that archetype, we haven't revealed one," said Flannum in an interview with gaming news site Eurogamer. "So yeah, we think people who enjoy that play-style will find a profession they like as well." Peters added further, "People who enjoy that [Mesmer] play-style will be happy, but no more than that."

Flannum also mentioned that of the three professions which have yet to be announced, one wears light armor while the other two wear medium armor, so it's worth noting that the Assassin class uses light armor while the Mesmer class uses medium armor.

I tried Guild Wars before but the PvP focus just isn't for me. I suck at it. Hard.
