The CEO went on to say, though, that BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic may actually be the competition that the WoW franchise has been waiting for.

The fact that they used an improved technology platform for the game's development definitely gives it a more secure footing when it comes to going up against the MMO bigwigs like WoW.

"BioWare is probably the highest-rated average developer in the history of games and the history of RPGs -- which is a pretty good foundation."
