NCsoft has not forgotten about you, Aion players. In fact, a new update is coming soon, and this is set to "further refine" your gaming experience, as well as continue to listen to what you fans have to say about it.
Sean Neil of NCsoft said of update v2.5, "Our immediate reaction was to poll the players, find out what they wanted, and we put in place a change to that system at the end of last year. And then we actively polled the players after that to ask them what they thought about the changes we were making."
Included in the changes scheduled to arrive sometime later this year would be two new instances, namely, Araka and Bootcamp. Araka will be where each players of either faction are given the ability to cut off supply lines of the Balaur. Meanwhile, Bootcamp is the setting for 10 challenging battles wherein you can gain "fame and fortune".
Other tweaks also involve the guild system Legion so that level cap as well as titles for organization purposes may be increased. The biggest feature, so it seems, of v2.5 is the Superior Graphics Engine Option (SGEO) and the Group Guide system.
The SGEO will give players a high end system option where they can set their graphics to the max without burning their cards. As for the Group Guide system, new and lower level folks can now get help from those in the upper levels, with a new incentive system featuring daily quests with rewards for those who will respond to the help.
Explained Neil, "You can play along with your friends even if they've been playing the game for six months and you haven't played at all. We want to give them items. We want to give them coins. We want to give them a system that makes them want to be those big brothers and sisters."
Other features you can expect from v2.5 are:
- more storage space and allegiance cloaks
- mood indicator for pets
- new class skills and powers
- interactive world map
- additions to character creation
- new crafting recipes
