Rumor: Two new iPhones coming this year?

Could this be the alleged screen of iPhone 4G?

According to insider reports from WSJ and Engadget, Apple is currently developing two new iPhone models, a next-gen iPhone dubbed as the iPhone HD and a new CDMA-capable version that could run on either the Verizon or Sprint's network.

The fist model, dubbed as the iPhone HD will be out this summer. It is said to be much thinner and will feature a A4-class CPU, a 960 x 640 resolution display, a front-facing camera, and will enable third-party multitasking in iPhone OS 4.0 while the second model on the other hand, the CDMA iPhones are not scheduled to go into mass production until September.

Well its not like its a surprise. Theres new ipods every year.

I'm not one to call things fake, but this just seems a little too good to be true. Why would Apple release a product that has features the consumer wants? all joking aside, it's not like them. Maybe they realized that the iPads bound to fail, and want to compensate. Who knows.

In summary, I think of course the new one will come out soon, but those specs seem fishey.

What the hell? Another 1.5 aspect ratio screen? When will they go full 16:9?!?!! Must be to maintain compatibility with legacy iphone apps.

You just gotta understand how Apple designs their phones, they deliberately limit features and hardware on one phone then the next one has just enough necessary extras to make you realise the old one just isn't good enough so you have to buy the updated one, i mean there's no reason to not have expandable memory except forcing you to buy newer model when memory not enough for the job, but really i have huge respect for Apple for somehow managing to hide just how greedy they are by offering nice looking hardware and UI's.

i just got a 3g for £150... currently in uk the iphone 3gs is £500, the only difference that actually matters between 3g vs 3gs is that 3gs has video camera... but i downloaded cycorder which records video for the 3g pretty smoothly & in gd quality... so why pay another £350 for a 3gs?

If my iphone 4g can use all the necessary apps i use, on my 3g, then der is no reason to upgrade.

for the additional features av heard about 4g... i've had no reason to upgrade..save ur cash on something worthy... Like buying a custom i7 Core PC with a HD screen! which will probably be the same price as a 4g.
