Greenpois0n jailbreak released

As promised, the Chronic-Dev Team has finally released greenpois0n, the long awaited untethered jailbreaking tool for iOS 4.1.

Developer's note:

greenpois0n only works on firmware 4.1, so (only if you have an iPhone 4!) if you are on a lower firmware make sure you use TinyUmbrella to preserve your baseband.

Initially, this will be a Windows-only release. This is due to some technical complications that we soon hope to correct. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks to geohot for the bootrom USB exploit. We have opted to use that instead of SHAtter for the sake of exploit presevation.

This release of greenpois0n supports:

  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 3G S
  • iPod touch (4th Generation)
  • iPod touch (3rd Generation)
  • iPad


Soon there will be another release, adding things like support for:

  • Apple TV (2nd Generation)
  • iPod touch (2nd Generation)

I used greenpois0n only because it's supported by Dev Team.

I only did one of my phones. My other phone has way too much stuff on it. Wont do it until 4.2

What douches, They were mad about limerain being released because it would put two exploits into Apples' Fix It Bin and waste one of em. So what do they do release there crap like attention whores. Now an exploit goes to waste because of these guys. Pathetic.

What the hell are you talking about? They didn't waste an exploit. They saved their exploit because Geohot released his a day before greenpois0n was originally going to be released, so they had to delay greenpois0n again so it could work around geohot's exploit. Who the hell is being the attention whore?

No exploit went to waste greenposi0n was going to be out last sunday 10/10/10 10:10:10, but limera1n was released before that so when the found that out they used the same exploit that limera1n uses so no exploit was waisted, greenpois0n just will be able to support more devices now ipt2g-ipt4g and all the iphones and ipt in between
