If Google really is working on their very own super phone, then the iPhone had better pucker up for more competition. Said to be both beautiful and powerful, the Google Phone is supposedly "like an iPhone on Beautifying steroids."
TechCrunch spotted a Tweet from a Google Program manager, saying, “Stuck in mass of traffic leaving work post last all hands of 2009. ZOMG we had fireworks and we all got the new Google phone. It’s beautiful.” Another Tweet was spotted from a Jason Howell, who said that "The new Google Phone runs on HTC hardware. I saw it w/ Android 2.1. Homescreen has new visual enhancements like animated desktop wallpaper.”
Howell also added that “Supposedly, Google employees were given tons of these phones today. unlocked,” which coincides with yet another Tweet, which says, “A friend from Google showed me the new Android 2.1 phone from HTC coming out in Jan. A sexy beast. Like an iPhone on beautifying steroids.”
The fabled Google Phone has been the subject of rumor-mongering for quite some time now, and getting "the confirmation" from a collection of Tweets does not seem pretty reliable. Then again, who knows? Anyone from Google in the house?
