From any egg comes hungry times: My Lil' Bastard for iPhone

There's a veritable glut of pet-themed video games out there. It seems like not an On Shelves goes by that we don't mention at least one of these things. If those prove too cutesy for you, you might want to take a gander at the recently-released My Lil' Bastard game for the iPhone.

This Is Pop and Adult Swim's My Lil' Bastard is a virtual pet game, only this pet has an attitude. You have to feed it, play with it, even toilet train it and suffer through its temper tantrums. It'll grow up, but only if you manage to keep yourself from giving in and killing it. The instructions are all given in very helpful Engrish. Here's a video of the free flash version to give you an idea of what to expect from your pet.

The only major difference between the flash version and the one for iPhone and iPod Touch is the control scheme. In the latter, you use your finger instead of a mouse. Oh, the price too. My Lil' Bastard will set you back US$ 2.99 on the App Store. It's available now.

Love the Engrish instructions. My pet keeps dying though. :(
