Apple on iPhone 4 signal issues: "You're holding it the wrong way!"

Now that Apple's much coveted hardware is out, reports are also filling up about a so-called "death grip" issue that early iPhone 4 adopters have experienced. So what's the fuzz about the "iPhone death grip" you might asked? Well here, take a look:

Apple's response to the issue:

"Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases."

WTF?

I believe holding a phone in your palm is an integral part of making phone calls.

What phone has a radio weak enough that it can't penetrate flesh? But it can penetrate metal and plastic better? I don't get it.

well like apple said they removed the antenna and used the whole metal sides as the antenna so im guessing the bottom left side is where the antenna connects to the outer case , tsk tsk , should have done it the traditional way with a seperate antenna im sure it would take up a little space unless its that crammed in there -_-

LOL

Congratulations yet again Apple.

What a bunch of retards they have for RND.

What was that about fixing the signal problems? Oh yeah. It works fine so long as you're not actually holding the phone!

Go back to making computers. It's the only thing you'll ever be good at.

Facts can prove your comment to be retarded in so many ways...

This is only true if said facts prove that they never even made computers well to begin with.

All Apple know how to do is market their tech.

Everything they bring out is over-hyped like hell. They claimed the iPhone 4 was a first in so many ways. I can think of just one thing that made it a first. The resolution of the screen.

Name me something they've made that's good other than their computers.

Everything they make is always behind what's currently out on the market, they just make it look more appealing to people and you suckers all fall for it.

Apple even make good computers LOL My laptop has Linux Ubuntu, Windows 7, and Mac OS X on it... Personally using all three, I think Mac isn't even that good. Linux is the best IMO.

they're not even good at making computers. Intel makes their computers and Apple makes the OS of which, OSX is a POS!!!!

This is nothing new. This happens with any 3G or 3GS. Its not so bad on the original iPhone. Just search youtube or whatever for 3G or 3GS reception issues. Maybe its especially bad on the newest one.

Zero problem with my 3G. Major problem with my iPhone4. It's not the same thing.
