Well, it sure looks like it! Apple has sent out official press invitations for a special media event next Wednesday, March 2, in San Francisco, presumably to unveil the long-rumored second-generation iPad.
The press invites, which you can see above, displays an iOS calendar icon being peeled away that reveals an iPad screen in the background, with the words "Come see what 2011 will be the year of". The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

But for me, my appeal is actually having an OS that is worth a damn on a screen that big.
The Archos 9 PC Tablet is a start in the right direction but the touch screen is resistive, I don't like that. But everything else it offers is definitely what I look for in a portable multimedia device with an open system.
I hear Dell might release one of these soon also, we'll see how that goes.

they should make the edges MUCH smaller, and reduce the screensize by 0.5 inch. That way, you can write much more relaxed with the ipad, and dont have to put it on you leg or something. And secondly, it makes the screen a little bit sharper, so they can make ipad 3 with retina screen.
Seriously... 1 megapixel camera, what a bull shit. it will be at the very least 2 megapixel (like the ipod touch 4G), but more probably be 3 megapixels because it's more new.
1.0 to 1.2 Ghz doesnt really sound like Apple... I guess it will be 1.5Ghz or maybe still 1.0Ghz but dual core...
Who knows, we will see next week.

I hope (and I am actually quite sure) that they are going to improve the speakers, because they are currently CRAP on the ipad.
