Despite numerous anti-piracy measures introduced by Blizzard over the past few month before it was release, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, still takes the cake as the most illegally downloaded torrent to date, with over two million downloads since its launch.
According to TorrentFreak, "the most popular torrent file for this 7.19 GB game has been downloaded 2.3 million times, totalling a massive 15.77 Petabytes." A legitimate copy of the game can also be downloaded through Blizzard's own BitTorrent client and it may have transferred even more data notes the site, but Blizzard tracker doesn't provide any stats.
StarCraft II was released worldwide on July 27 this year.

Just to keep it in perspective.
Released July 27th 2010...
Doesn't surprise me especially considering how long it took this game to get made.
But then again there is no comparison to any other games released in that quarter so how can we be surprised by only one outcome?
