No CG cutscenes in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, says producer

Remember the debut trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow? Impressive, right? You might be more impressed to learn that all the footage in that trailer were taken in-game. No CG cutscenes here, says producer David Cox.

"All cut scenes are done using the game's engine," said Cox on the game's official Twitter page. He further added, "Castlevania LOS is a CG free zone. Everything we have shown including the trailers is in game and rendered using the game engine. Official!"

Okay, Mercury Steam, color me impressed. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime this year. In the meantime, let's have a look at that E3 trailer again.

Well.. Other then it looking nothing like Castlevania =) it looks good.

I think only the end of the video looks kind of like Castlevania =/ i am sure Castlevania fans will be disappointed.

Really i would rather see a Kick ass looking 2D Castlevania not a 3D Castlevania every 3D Castlevania that's come out has sucked =/

Looks impressive, Never really played the caslevania games(except maybe on gameboy) but that trailer has me looking forward to this one

Listening to Patrick Stewart made me want to play Oblivion... Game looks good though, just wish it was a 2d side scroller... NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE 3D PEOPLE!

Guys, do you know who's the producer of this game ans his whole teams is helping mercury steam to make it? None other than Hideo Kojima; which means this game is gonna be awesome not only in the graphic and story side but in everything hideo kojima rocks so expect the game to be very influenced by his work

graphics: looks nice
character design: i like the main character's
appearance
star trek, captain picard as story teller....wait what?

The game doesn't look that bad, a bit like god of war but okay, that's not the worst part.

if you take a good look at this trailer you can see alot of linearity and no z-axis play (stuff to climb/jump on)
also the only thing we've seen so far is a whip for a weapon, and no other special skills like transformations , special moves like richter's air dash.

I find this trailer very lacking and this gives me little to no hope that there will ever be a castlevania game such as SOTN in 3d. the ds versions are nice but lacking. weird animations and for some reason not really that interesting to play again after you beat them.

I am new to castlevania, but I'm aware it's a very challenging 2D sidescroller/platformer with guns and swords etc. To me, this resembles devil may cry, prince of persia and god of war. The rainy part with the wolf looked very realistic. Will probably buy this one day, but theres too many games not enough time...
