New Assassin's Creed game to star Ezio

The next Assassin's Creed game will once again star Assassin's Creed 2's Ezio, Ubisoft recently confirmed. Furthermore, it'll follow the events that took place in AC2.

"The game will take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin's Creed 2," an Ubisoft spokesperson told CVG. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot also confirmed that the game will be helmed by the same studio behind AC2 and that it will be sold at a "full price point".

It's unclear if this game will be Assassin's Creed 3 or a spin-off ala Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines, but the latter seems more probable to me personally. I was always under the impression that each main game in the series would focus on a different ancestor of Desmond Miles.

Ok, that there is a buzz kill!! The heck are they thinking now. Please don't destroy an otherwise impeccable game series!

What do they think they are going to do? The story is done and over with. Ezio is an assassin whose parents are killed and he has had his revenge, rebuilt his guild in that land and all! Move on Ubi and give us the next era and decendant. you move on with a series, not take a step back!!

No confirmed sources yet, but it sounds like it will be more of a spin-off instead of the next AC3.

(Not because Ezio is bad or anything)but I hope this is a spin-off. Rumours went round that AC3 would either be in King Arthurs England or Ancient Japan and I'm gunning for Japan. I just want official word on that.

The fact that the're going to do this means that any statment about AC3 will be delayed (assuming they dont mean AC3). Same studio? Home Consoles please!

i think this is going to be like a bloodlines type thing then its going to be AC3... i think AC3 is going to be about desmond all the way... you know a modern one... that would be so cool just like in the ending of AC2

I read another similar story in another website (i don't remember which one) but it said that Assassin's Creed 2 will have downloadable episode content. Ubisoft will continue Ezio story through these episode contents which they are also trying to release a online co-op mode too.

i could kinda see ac3 starring ezio because ac2 was kinda left at a cliffhanger with both dezmond and ezio...but i hope you get to play as other assassins in different points of time too because like they said at the end of ac2, desmond is re-entering the animus to find the other temples and pieces of eden

i just looked it up on wikipedia and this is what it says under the sequel section:

On January 13, 2010, Ubisoft revealed that a new game tentatively titled Assassin's Creed II Episodes would be released sometime between April 2010 and March 2011. [63] While not an expansion pack to Assassin's Creed II, this game will again feature Ezio Auditore da Firenze, and will include a new online multiplayer mode.

looks like there is still a chance we will get to play as a different assassin (if not multiple ones...dang i hope so!) in ac3!

hey , AC2 will be in spain 100% and wil feature Ezio , just hope they dont try modern world levels its sucks . and hope they work with jasper kid again , and make Ezio runing more spectacular just like ( ong bak 1 ) ..........

I thought AC series is a trilogy? I was kinda hoping for them to focus on Desmond and "The truth" and Ezio's story is done already he got what he wants.

I heard from others its going to be like an episode add-on for AC2 though. I hope this ones right

this game should be a spin off, now i think its awsome ezio is going to star in another game, he is a way cooler character then altair.

but

SPOILERS:

at the end of AC2, they basically confirmed AC3 to take place in the 21st century and you play as desmond miles.

Desmond even gets a hidden blade at the end. and the main Templar is that professor.

anyway this might just be another spin of, like AC:altairs chronicles, or AC: bloodlines, or AC2 discovery.

but in the article this sounds kinda big to be a spin off. this sounds like console stuff.

but then again look at MGS: Rising, that seems like a spin off as well.

MGS: PW sounds like its the bigger title, and thats for psp.

anyway we will just have to wait and see.

Sounds like a spinoff to me. I'm 99% positive AC3 will mostly star Desmond
