Former Infinity Ward bosses form new studio, hook up with EA |

Neither getting the boot from Activision's nor the lawsuit they're currently involved in with their former employers aren't going to keep Vince Zampella and Jason West from making games. EA has announced that the former Infinity Ward bosses have formed a brand new studio.
The studio, called Respawn Entertainment, will have the one thing that Activision reportedly kept the pair from getting: full creative control over their own IPs. EA will instead handle only the publishing and worldwide distribution rights via EA Partners.
"Respawn Entertainment marks a fresh start for Jason and me," said Zampella. "For the past decade we led a great development team and poured our hearts into creating an epic game franchise. We're very proud of what we built – and proud that so many millions of fans enjoyed those games. Today we hope to do it all over again — open a new studio, hire a great team, and create brand new games with a new partner, EA."
West also added that retaining full creative control will work out to the benefit of gamers in the future. "We're excited," he said. "Now that the team is in control of the games and brands, we can ensure that the fans are treated as well as they deserve."
Zampella and West were fired by Activision last month over allegations of breaches of contract and insubordination. Both camps have since fired lawsuits at each other.

and i hope the remaining members of the infinity ward team end up leaving activision and joining this new studio.
and @symbiosis, you really are an idiot.
that was back when EA was as bad as
Activision is now. EA is now the best publisher you can possibly work for in the industry. Activision are just a bunch of money grubbing bastards led by the worst of them all, bobby kotick.
the roles have switched dramatically.

EA is not the best employer to work for, it never was, it probably never will be... its funny that they have offered this to these two when they wouldn't offer it to Pandemic.
Did you forget that they used to work for EA? AND that their only game at Infinity Ward was a direct rip off of the game they made for EA, Medal of Honor... or did the striking similarities escape your profound sense of judgment? Oh wise deity... get a life, and a job for EA, and then come talk to me about what a great employer they are.

Activision should be pretty pissed just about now, losing two masterminds behind a few huge, money-making titles.
Not that MW3 or any other new crap CoD title wouldn't be successful without the devs who left IW.

You're missing some of the most fun games. EA are Valve's publisher for one. Half-Life is a wicked series. Left4Dead is great fun.
Mirror's Edge, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (and series), Burnout (series), Mass Effect, Rock Band, Dead Space, Dragon Age, Crysis, Army of Two, Skate.
You're quite ignorant to some pretty great games.
If anything, you're insulting the talent staff behind these games that work hard and pour their passion into their work.
