A month ago, Square Enix announced iPhone and iPod Touch ports of Final Fantasy III. Both games hit the App Store today for US$ 8.99 each.

These versions are based on the updated ports released for the PSP and include the Soul of Chaos and the Labyrinth of Time for I and the Soul of Rebirth and Arcane Labyrinth for II. There's also a new interface developed by Square Enix for Apple's touchscreen handhelds.

This reminds me that I still haven't finished FFII on PSP. Got too busy leveling Minwu up for Soul of Rebirth and then lost interest. :(

If you are going to buy one of these, buy Final Fantasy I. It is much better than II.

If you're getting it just for the sake of having FF on your iphone then that's fine. BUT if you are getting it because you want to play FF then don't bother.. the controls are horrid and you'll end up getting frustrated at how difficult it is to even just talk to every person in town.
