2. Not an Age of Empires game

Age of Empires III, despite its deviations from its core franchise, has been well-received by various bodies in the industry. But if you ask Ensemble Studios founder Bruce Shelley, he wasn't happy with the way they made the RTS. In fact, he looks back and says the direction they took was a "huge mistake."

"With Age of Empires 3 we tried all of these new ideas," he said. "I think it was a huge mistake."

What exactly was this huge mistake? Shelley pointed out that it was their attempts at bringing so many things into the game. "We wanted to create something that was 30 percent the same, 30 percent borrowed and 30 percent innovative. I think we tried to do too much," he said.

IMO, age of empires 3 is a great game, why would anyone say it was a mistake?
after playing the 3rd one, playing age of empires 2 feels somewhat lame..
keep up the good work!
