timesplittersA year ago, Crytek bought TimeSplitters and Haze developer Free Radical when the latter got into some dire financial straits.

We haven't heard a lot about the studio's future projects since, but this new trademark filing suggests that it may have something to do with splitting time. And monkeys.

Crytek has reportedly filed a trademark for TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, the last TimeSplitters release from Free Radical and EA. The game was released back in 2005 on GameCube, PS2, and Xbox, so this could be the long-awaited PC port as Supererogatory suggests.

Of course, there's also a chance that it could be a downloadable console release or remake of some sort. Who knows? Maybe we'll learn more at E3.

While a Future Perfect re-release would be nice, a TimeSplitters 4 would be better IMO.

That game was sweet, the levels were all unique and different, with many different guns. Kept someone with ADD/ADHD interested.

This game was amazing, amazing being an understatement.. I bought this game for 20 bucks at a flea market thinking it'd be something to beat on campaign, but I ended up pulling all nighters with my friend just bashing through campaign and the multiplayer over and over and over.

According to Wikipedia (which cites another QJ page?), they said if there's "high industry demand" they'll continue development on TS4!

TS2 was outstanding, the rest not so much. I hope they take more from TS2 than the other series. They'd have a hit then.

I'd rather TS4 but this is equally good. I don't care if it's on PC or just an HD remake, I will buy it. I had TS2 as well a while back and their original project before being shut down was to remake TS2 in HD and put it on the PS Store/XBLive Store.

More TS action = happy NarooN. I might have to rebuild my maps but I won't mind!

YES, TS3 on the PS3.

I'D BUY IT ASAP!

I sometimes dust off my PS2 to play it, but it would ROCK in HD.

This is certainly the best news we got from Crytek in a long time. I think this means Crytek want to re-release TSFP to test the market to see if there is a demand for a shooter like TS4. This will be very interesting. To see at E3 I hope!

Best shooter ever! I'm not exaggerating when I say that the ONLY game that I truly looked forward to was TS4 for the 360. After Free Radical went under, I looked and looked for something that would excite me but to no avail. I'm just going to get out my old 40 lb xbox and play TSFP some more  Hopefully "Crytek UK" will be allowed to work on TS once again.

TSFP, the BEST FPS of all time, no B.S. Any new release or re-release with online capability I will most assuredly play the snot out of and get a hell of a lot less sleep every night...BRING IT Crytek!!!!!!! :)
