This fact was made public by Pete Hines himself during JOhn Carmack's introduction for the QuakeCon 2010 keynote.
To this turn of events, Raphael Colantonio, founder of Arkane, expressed his sentiments: "We are extremely pleased to join the family of Bethesda and id Software. I don't know how it could be better."
While details were not disclosed as to this acquisition, what they did make public was that they are now collaborating on an "unannounced project" and that it will be "a while before we'lre talking about it." id Software was only acquired by the Bethesda parent company, Zenimax, last year.
