Analyst: IW to be 'essentially closed' after the next MW2 map pack

The next Modern Warfare 2 map pack may very well be Infinity Ward's last release. One analyst predicts that the studio will be "essentially closed" after that.

"We expect Infinity Ward studio will be essentially closed after their next map pack release, with development work on Modern Warfare 3 spread between two studios not historically tied to the franchise," says Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey.

Hickey attributed the prediction to the "meaningful uncertainty" cast upon Infinity Ward after the spate of defections and resignations from the studio. Just recently, ex- and current Infinity Ward employees have also filed a case against parent company Activision for breach of contract and unpaid royalties, among other things.

I mean seriously Call Of Duty is dead unless it gets fixed ASAP!..Or we all should file a claim against these lazy Bastards! Spent $150 for that damn game and sure enough its a freaking damn joke with there servers etc..Hell you even try plying it in Special Ops same old crap!

activision is now dealing with 2 lawsuits now. i really hope that activision loses. you have j. west and zampalla and now the IW employee group. oh i do know that activision hadn't played fair with the IW staff.

i for one am' exited to see what west and zampalla will work on at respawn studios. i really wonder if respawn will hire some of the former IW developers.

btw, i have a PS3 and the 360. PS3 totally rocks!!!!!!!

i had a ps3, but playing Modern Warfare 1 with the dual shock feels very than the xbox controller. i sold it a few days later

ps3 might be more powerful than xbox, but the important thing is that the games are the same graphically.
