Another day, another Activision resignation. It's not somebody from Infinity Ward, however. This time, Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith is the one who stepped down from his post.

Activision has announced that Griffith resigned his role effective April 23. Although he will no longer be CEO of the Activision subsidiary, he'll still stick around as vice-chairman of Activision Blizzard on a 12-month rolling contract.

He'll be making some pretty nice coin for that role, too. His basic salary will reportedly be US$ 250,000 a year, not counting a 50% discretionary bonus based on his previous roles for the first part of 2010.

Just my thoughts. I think somebody noticed too late that "beheading the Goose That laid the golden eggs" was a bad decision after all.

Well, I certainly wouldn't be happy about whiling away my days for a company like activision.

I would imagine it being about a personally fulfilling as scrubbing a toilet. :-)

Hopefully these guys who are leaving are gaining an opportunity to do something more respectable that really utilizes they're talents.

Griffith is the Publishing CEO.
He sets the prices for the licenses and licensees.
He is mainly responsible for making sure Activision gets paid for their game properties.

Shareholders to Griffith: Your 'fire IW to get out of paying them' plan is fail. We're cutting you lose, idiot.
