Xbox 360 HD DVD - Image 1Microsoft's Xbox team has posted an official statement on the Gamerscoreblog regarding its stand on the format wars and the expected fall of the HD DVD format.

According to the announcement, the team feels that the the victory of Blu-Ray will not have an impact on the Xbox 360 platform or its position in the market place. Interestingly enough though, the team is still waiting to hear from Toshiba before "announcing any specific plans" regarding the Xbox 360 HD DVD player.

It seems that Microsoft isn't very worried about the fall of HD DVD at the moment, citing HD DVD as only one of several ways users can enjoy HD on the Xbox 360. The company has made clear that it will continue to provide other alternatives to consumers such as digital distribution of high definition movies and TV shows and playback of the DVD movies they already own.

I bet Microsoft is really happy now since HD DVD is failing. I bet there planning to sell the HD DVD drive for 360 as a collectible and scam everyone like they always do! And of course, the idiots in the world (all the people who like Microsoft) will buy it giving Microsoft some more money.
