Toshiba launches largest density NAND flash memory device

Toshiba 32GB NAND flash memory device - Image 1Toshiba recently revealed the launch of its 32GB embedded NAND flash memory modules, making it the largest density ever produced among the current standard. The devices will be applicable for mobile digital consumer products, including mobile phones and video cameras.

The 32GB embedded devices combines eight 4GB NAND chips and comes with a dedicated controller. Toshiba is also offering a line-up of single package embedded NAND flash memories and will be available in densities ranging from 1GB to 32GB. The line-up includes:
  • LBA-NAND memory, which has a NAND interface
  • eSD large capacity chips with SD interface
  • e-MMC with an HS-MMC interface
Samples of the new NAND flash memory devices will be available next month, with mass production to start during the fourth quarter of this year.
