Toshiba announces 22-inch monitor with 3,840 x 2,400 resolution |
Ó
You want high resolution? Toshiba's got a new monitor that can pump out four times as many pixels as any other monitor in its class. The new monitor is a 22-inch WQUXGA display that boasts a whopping 3,840 x 2,400 pixels.Apart from the insanely high resolution, Toshiba's new 22-inch LCD has some pretty standard features. It features 1677 million colors, 235cd/m2 brightness, 300:1 contrast and 120-degree top/bottom and 100-degree left/right viewing angles. Please note that Toshiba hasn't released any images of it yet, so the one on the right is just a generic Toshiba monitor.
The new monitor will ship in Japan before summer next year for 2,079,000 yen (US$ 18,120). To take advantage of the high resolution, you'll also need a dedicated PCI graphics card, which, incidentally, Toshiba also sells. The graphics card goes for 312,900 yen (US$ 2,727) a pop.

Could you even notice the very high resolution since the screen is only 22 inches big?
