This Wii was made for walking: Google Street View mod using Balance Board |
Ó
A blogger on blog.katsuma.tv was able to hot-wire the Google Earth feature onto a PC, allowing a user to literally walk through the streets of the city being viewed using the Balance Board. It's definitely a cheaper alternative than buying a plane ticket and walking those said streets in real life.
The video below shows off the mod in action, including some of its different features such as turning the view by leaning on the Balance Board in a specific direction. We have to wonder if this is going to inspire game devs to create a game with the same virtual walking theme someday.
