The Zune is one of the premier handhelds in the market today. While the product has received some criticism regarding the IP protection scheme that's in the system, it's still being actively promoted by Microsoft, and newer versions of it are coming out. Here's one of the hottest versions that will be coming out: the Halo 3 version of the Zune.

From all indications, it's a stock Zune with a body makeover and pre-installed with some new Halo 3 content (but that's just speculation so far until we actually get our hands on one). No specifications on the product were given, but we can tell you that it looks really sweet. The entire unit screams Halo 3 when you look at it - even the wallpaper has the Master Chief in his classic stoic "I'm going to finish the fight" pose. The back of the media player has "Halo 3 glyphs" completing the ensemble.

The only problem we see about getting one of these Zunes is not knowing whether to just keep it on display or use it. The pictures we have here were taken by Carlos in the NYC preview of Halo 3 and were originally posted on Gizmodo. Be sure to check them out.

» So?

So what? Its just a Zune, knowing a lot of Halo fanboys, they probably wet themselves by now. Even if the iPod had this (very unlikely), its still just an iPod, its nothing special.

» the yellow symbol on the back

the yellow symbol on the back of that zune looks like it could be another monitor... (Halo monitor, not zune screen).

» I don't like Zune!

Hey, I'm a big Halo fanboy, but I just hate the Zune. Trust me, I've not wet myself over this Halo3 edition Zune.

» Haha

Alright, the Halo 3 Zune is for nerds, the iPod is for poseur losers who are naive and desperate for attention. And who apparently can't even spell at a sixth grade level. Are we settled now?

» Thats Retarded

Thing is, if you buy this, you arent going to care about looking like a game freak... At my school, a couple of my friends bring their Xbox systems and we play Halo in vacant class rooms... Chicks that dont dig gamers suck anyway.
