PopCap Games' Hammer Heads for Microsoft's Ultra-Mobile PCs at E3 |
PopCap Games announced today that its forthcoming arcade-style game Hammer Heads will be showcased on the first generation of Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC) devices in the Microsoft booth at E3 next week. Along with the “sneak preview” of PopCap’s HeavyWeapon for Xbox360, these mark the first instances in PopCap’s history that the company has publicly unveiled games prior to their official release dates.
The UMPC devices, a new generation of hand-held mobile computing devices announced two months ago by Microsoft and Intel, are being manufactured by major consumer electronics and personal computer firms around the globe.
Jason Kapalka, Chief Creative Officer at PopCap:
“We’re pleased to have Microsoft preview Hammer Heads on the first UMPC units at E3 next week, and expect the game to be very popular on that platform as well as traditional PCs when it officially ships later this year. As soon as we got our hands on a UMPC device for the first time, we just knew that playing on a tablet would be the ultimate Hammer Heads experience – the input and controls are even more intuitive and effective than a mouse!”
Developed by Nuclide Games, Hammer Heads is an action oriented gnome-smashing fiesta in which players strive to keep the gnome population under control by pounding them into the ground as quickly as possible. Bash ‘em fast while keeping an eye out for special gnomes, prizes and power-ups! Explore three different game modes as you earn trophies and upgrade your gnome-bashing hammer along the way. Suitable for everyone age 7 to 107, Hammer Heads will test your reflexes while providing laughs, surprises and fun with every whack of your hammer. Hammer Heads is slated for official release later this month.
Add this as one more thing to look forward to, at E3. I personally canÂ’t wait for E3 Week. ItÂ’s gonna be a gadget-freakÂ’s dream, so QJ.NET will be sending a team to cover E3. You can look forward to exclusive news, interviews, scoops, and lots more during E3 week. Heck, weÂ’re setting up a blog exclusively for E3, just so you guys donÂ’t have to go anywhere else. Until then, you can check all out E3 related stories here.
