On Blu-ray This Week: Hidalgo, Coyote Ugly, and Unbreakable - Image 1

Okay, so even Bonnie and Clyde couldn't pull off a heist last week with just four other Blu-ray titles to back them up. Perk up, we've got a barrage of releases and we're sure you'll be happy to see some of them on your Blu-ray home entertainment system.

We've got an ensemble cast: sizzling hot ladies of Coyote Ugly, singing chipmunks, some pirates, Hong Kong movie stars before they became superstars, cataclysmic storm, King Tut, paunchy softballers, apocalyptic earthquakes, a super soldier, Justin Timberlake, a cowboy and his intrepid horse, and one unbreakable superhero. See? We told you it's a barrage and we'll check out some of them.

Do you know coyote ugly? (Let's all cross our fingers and hope we never experience it.) Well, the 2000 film, Coyote Ugly was based on an article written about a real life bar in the East Village at New York City. Anyway, the movie centers on the adventures of Violet Sanford, an aspiring songwriter who nabs a job at the Coyote Ugly. How will she be able to cope with the wild bar?

The next movie on our sights this week features a partnership between a man and his horse. Dubbed the "best rider in the West," cowboy Frank T. Hopkins has to prove his mettle against Bedouin riders and their thoroughbred horses in a race across the desert. And it isn't called Ocean of Fire for nothing.

We're all dreamed of being bitten by a radioactive spider, falling into a vat of radioactive waste (or getting "accidentally" sprayed in the eyes with it), and/or getting exposed to cosmic rays. Yes, everyone wants to be a superhero. In M. Night Shyamalan's 2000 movie, Unbreakable, Elijah "Mr. Glass" Price suffers from a rare bone disease that gave him fragile bones. On the other side of the spectrum comes David Dunn who survived a train crash unscathed. Throw in super strength and ESP and you've got a superhero in your hands.

Unfortunately, that's all we have time for this week on Blu-ray. Check out the full list of releases below and tell us what you think. Enjoy!

All garbage

Don't know what Unbreakable is, seems alright. The rest suck Still, I can't wait to buy a PS3, there are already so many great movies on BR. Then they just have to make all my favorite movies on it, like The Godfather, and The Lord of the Rings, and The Matrix, and Star Wars, and Indiana Jones, and...
