On Blu-ray This Week: July 30 - August 5 |
Ó
This, indeed, is madness. Of course, madness here would connote something positive - e.g. wicked, sweet, winrar, [insert your own outcry of joy here]. Finally we get some seriously mind blowing eye-candy in the glory of high-definition.Yes, we've heard some of your comments; quite a lot of you (myself included) have been waiting for this to come out. So, without further ado, from Warner Bros. Pictures, the film adaptation of Frank Miller's "300" will finally be available on Blu-ray this week!
Here's the full list of movies to be released, all on July 31, 2007:
- 300 (Warner Bros.)
- Blue Planet - IMAX (Warner Bros.)
- Roving Mars - IMAX (Disney / Buena Vista)
- Shooter (Paramount Pictures)
Shooter is also coming out. If this movie has anything that's got to do with the upcoming (rumored) G.I. Joe film in 2010, Mark Walhberg looks like he's preparing for his (rumored) role as Duke.
A very good lineup of Blu-ray movies this week. If it's say to assume, I'm expecting a considerable spike in Blu-ray sales this week. Let's see how hot-selling those Spartan 18-pack abs really are...

I have already seen 300 and will probably buy it on blu-ray. I just watched Shooter last night. A cool and movie with lots of action. Blue Planet I have seen before but not Roving Mars. I will have to check that one out. I do have Planet Earth on blu-ray though and I have to say it is very cool! I can't wait for more on blu-ray in the future!

Blu-ray is the next true format all of these movies look great I too already seen the 300 did anyone notice that Sparta looks a little like Ramone?
Im defo buyin 300 on blu-ray.
I also saw it as well, but you can never get enough of Sparda, 300. Blue-ray is the next gen of memory on discs. Just think about putting multiple movies on one discs, HD-DVD's can't do that.
300 has to be one of the most beautifully shot movies I have ever seen so im sure that the blu-ray will be one of the best movies to watch in high def. the prospect of watching this in blu-ray on my projector is mouthwatering. hope the matrix comes out soon as well
Ladies and gents, regoice! for the quick jump network's photography site is about to reach the 1 year mark without being updated!!!
Hi,
"HD-DVD's can't do that."
-- While I don't want to offend you, do you really think posting a line like that was advisable? Surely you know how 360 trolls are drawn like magnets to PS3 posts, and comments like the one above posted by you stand a chance of starting up a flame war when none exists as of yet. I do wish you wouldn't repeat this.
If I offended you, I apologize.
Regards,
MTK

The movie 300 has probably the most awesome special effects I've ever seen, but you gotta admit that the storyline was kind of weak, the story is kind of boring.
