BTW to all who read in America......about the voting system....I mean,..I understand in the infancy of this country due to logistical reasons it was decided by our forefathers that we would use an electoral system of voter ballot counting where each state would be responsible for counting its voters ballots and would in turn report who won in each state to our capitol who would in turn see who won the whole vote by sorting the winners of the most states votes (bigger states=more votes). That makes sense. It would have been very hard to count every individual vote and tally them together.



Now however, times and communications systems have changed. it is very possible and dare I say would be easy to count every ballot of every voter to see who the truly more popular candidate would be. It is so easy in fact , that the US government already does it! What is baffling is why, if we truly know who the majority of the voters have voted for we do not use this to elect our president. Why still use the archaic and no unnecessary method of the Electoral voting system. Furthermore why is there hardly anyone who asks these questions and challenges our old system.



It is no secret that Gore won the last election by popular vote but lost by electoral. That means the majority of the bigger states wanted bush, while the majority of the citizens of the united states of America wanted Gore. Why the hell is bush in office then?



On the recent democratic debates on CNN i heard several of the candidates make jokes or comments eluding to this, stating that America really voted in a democratic president. If they all feel this way, then why doesn't any of them have the stones to say we need a change the way our election outcomes are determined...maybe because they are all cowards. Peace

As to your comment on the Americal electoral system, I agree that this could use some change. However, the way things are going right now, if they change something now (esp the current Republican administration, although it can be argued that both Republicans and Democrats are birds of the same feather), it will probably be for the worse rather than improving the system.
