If you're the type of person whose lifestyle is dependent on your laptop, you probably have to deal with some level of paranoia that it might get stolen. Here's some good news for you. Intel is developing new anti-theft technology for laptops, which they will release by the fourth quarter of this year.
There's a kind of a downside though. The anti-theft technology isn't designed to prevent the theft; only to protect your personal data within the laptop's memory banks. The technology is designed to lock the system and the disk in the event of your laptop being stolen or lost.
At the least though, you'll know that even if your laptop is in the wrong hands, the data inside isn't. The technology is designed to render both the laptop's processor and storage inaccessible.
Just how this technology will work is still under wraps. Intel will be releasing more info on it once it's release nears. Hopefully, the tech will be able to keep pesky siblings from trying to mess around with your data.
