HeadZone headset to rock your PS3 with surround sound |

Here's a little something for the hardcore PS3 gamer: Beyerdynamic is offering the "HeadZone," a set of headphones with full surround sound and a twist. There's no catch or anything, but this innovative gizmo uses the "headtracking" function that adjusts sound when the user moves his head.To mimic a high-end home theater's audio, this headset for the PS3 dynamically changes the source of sound. If you're tailing a car in MotorStorm, you'll hear the engine roar from the screen in front of you no matter what your head's position is.
In other words, HeadZone is a portable surround sound system. Not mini-speakers that are painful to carry around, but simple headsets packed with all the power you'll need.
When we say it's for the hardcore, we mean that casual gamers would frown at this gadget's price. Tagged at US$ 2,940, be ready to dish out some dough when HeadZone hits the shelves come October.

Actually, Sony already offers a Surround-Sound Wireless IR Headphone System. I bought it 2 years back on Amazon.com. It also offers the same features, with support upto 6.1 DTS and the dynamic changing of the source of sound (called GyroTrak in the Sony product). If you are looking for a cheaper, and wireless alternative to the above, try this: Sony MDR-DS8000.
P.S: It's showing as Currently Unavailable on Amazon.
