Future game consoles to monitor health?

Here's another reason to stay stuck to your Playstation (as if you needed another one).  Dr. Harold Goldberg of the University of Washington is working with several industry partners, including Nintendo and game designer Realtime Associates, on a gaming device interface for young diabetes sufferers.

The interface will allow patients to test their own blood-sugar and blood-pressure levels with digital devices and send this to the doctor's office, and will also be able to ask the patients for important information regarding diet and exercise, as well as send them health reminders.

If it works out, it could be a killer reason to stay hunched over your box 'til the wee hours.
