The happy folks at the FCC have just given a thumbs-up to Harmonix's Rock Band wireless guitar controller for the PS3. After subjecting the product to some rigorous tests and passing them, it's finally received the required FCC approval that most every gadget out in the world aims for.

We checked out the pics that the FCC has posted of their handling of the guitar controller. We're not sure if they actually got to test it with an actual copy of the game, but still, at least it seems as if they had fun... tinkering with the guitar controller.

To bad that Xbots don't get one

At least not standard. They have to pay extra if they want the wireless guitar seeing as how Microsoft's wireless technology is proprietary and actually charges developers for it. So if you own a 360 and plan on buying this title get ready to pay extra for the wireless guitar thanks to MS's usual strategy of milking it's consumers dry with proprietary everything. Hard Drive-proprietary, memory card-proprietary, wireless technology- proprietary. And if you want to play online that'll cost you too, even so much as changing your gamertag name 800 MS points. On top of this their consoles keep braking even after repair or replacement and for some reason people have the nerve to say that the PS3 is expensive. So you would rather get screwed out of your money nice and slow than pay a high sticker price for a quality product. I'll never understand people.
