Costco.com Listing Two Blu-Ray Movies |
Ó
Costco.com has posted their first two Blu-ray discs, and the first I've
seen available. For a measly $19.99 (relatively cheap when you
consider the price of a standard DVD - which is about 15 bucks - and the
production cost of the two) you can snag a copy of 'House of Flying Daggers' or 'A Knight's Tale,'
both shipping within 7-14 days. As more and more Blu-ray videos come out, Sony gets a bigger backing for the PS3 (the self-proclaimed cheapest BD player on the market). When the console does launch, people will notice that it already has a significant library of available movies, which is of course a smart move on Sony's part. Take a look for yourself below.

wow, only 20 dollars. I was expecting them to be more expensive. Will the price of the games be close the price of the movies?
hopefully other movies will be 20 bucks too
Cheap media, Cheap player, Blu-Ray seems to unstopable at this point.
its only a start that the movies are so cheap.you have to think that those are old movies and that buyers shouldnt have to pay that much, but once the newer movies start to come in the price will most likely raise.
When DVDs were first out having old movies they were well around 30 bucks. And new movies were even higher. this seems to be a good start. If they can produce old movies for 20 bucks then people might consider upgrading their collection to BD.
The poster above is correct in that those two movies could be cheaper due to them being older movies. But if you look at their HD-DVD's for sale (6 of them) they range from the same price and up to $24. This looks promising for both formats.
Hopefully we can see some good quality dual-format players on the market in the short future.
I cant wait for stargate to come out on bluray.
Those are some pretty *****ty movies for launching. A Knight's Tale a torture to sit through.
House of Flying Daggers and Knight Tales are one of my favorite Movies of all time. Thank God, they come out first which is my wishlist for Blu-Ray Format!
