Commodore has been quiet for some time now, but they're back with four different models from an entry level gaming PC to an extreme specification model. To be shown at the CeBit 2007 by Commodore Gaming, these rigs can be customized to match personal taste: Commodore is offering specially selected art including street art, photography, PC game artwork (such as that of GRAW 2) and many other licensed images.
The units are called Cg (entry level), Cgs, Cgx and Cxx (extreme level). Each will be running Microsoft Windows Vista, a 64-bit operating system, which includes the new gaming interface: DirectX 10. Two multicoloured LED lights inside the fans can be independently controlled to change or enhance the mood with an ambient glow. For cooling the rig, a new Ice Cube cooling system is present, reducing the core temperature by up to seven degrees.
For peripherals, Commodore is offering a plethora of options from respected gaming brands including Raptor keyboards and Logitech speaker systems. In addition to this, all Commodore Gaming PCs come with a full two year service and parts warranty.
To give you an idea of how the extreme rig will be configured, here are the specs:

Am I the only one finding this somewhat retarded?
I mean, can't I, let's say, go to newegg.com and build the same thing for a fraction of the price?
Online there are plenty of motherboard suppliers where to choose from, and I am pretty sure there are for Core Extreme.
This schiieat will prolly cost $40000$7000. And guess what, around $1500 on hardware (here you could install a plethora of free OSes), $300 Hasta La Vista, $2200-$5500 COMMODORE BRAND!!!

The only way it could be worth is if they manage to tweak the hardware, introduce new hardware design more optimized and so on. Just any type of technological innovation. For instance Thinkpads are a breed on it's own, Apple hardware is always innovative, or Wii, or PS3, PSP, etc.
Yo man, if otherwise this crap just puts together STANDARD hardware off the shelf this a simple schitty SCAM. COMMODORE thiefs sucking guillible youngster's parents $$$.
And what's more, the lusers who take this scam will think themselves THE SCHIIEEAT, blowing their ego.

it's the same thing with alienwares. the ALX doesn't cost anywhere near 5 grand to make, but it's an alienware so your paying for the name.
And with this it's the same thing. Though i'd have to say hardware wise, including the case and custom art would probably be close to 2000 on one of these extreme ones. But yea it'll probably cost 4000+ which is ridiculous.
A friend of mine built his own computer and just bought an alienware case for it. And honestly i wouldn't mind getting one of the custom art cases and just tossing my current system in it.
