CES: seeing numbers in Bill Gates' keynote |
Ó

Sometimes, it's easier to see the bigger picture through numbers. No, we're not necessarily talking about seeing 1s and 0s as Neo does in "The Matrix" - but yeah, sort of something like that if you want a geek's analogy for it. Numbers, figures, statistics, ratios and the like: these can tell you quite a lot.
The recent CES revealed to us a lot of information of or relating to Microsoft as a whole. And as some of us would slice-and-dice Bill Gates' keynote address for all the minor details, here's a bulleted list of his speech, as seen in numbers:
- 30 billion: number of dollars raised by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
- 2: current place occupied by Microsoft in the MP3 player wars
- 1 million: number of Zunes they are "on track" to sell
- 200 million: people who play games on Windows every month
- 10.4 million: number of Xbox 360 consoles sold worldwide so far
- 8: number of weeks it took Microsoft to sell 2.7 million copies of Gears of War
- 160: Games currently on Xbox 360; expected to double this year
- 3 billion: hours of gaming on Xbox Live thus far
- 5 million: Xbox Live members

160 games? Are you serious? And why haven't I purchased an X360 yet?..
Oh ya, it's coming back to me now. I have yet to see a decent game for the X360. The whole GRAW, GoW, flagships just suck. I'm not looking for eye candy, I'm looking for a game. Please give me one.
dont tell me
u'r a sony fanboy : ) get a life
And dish out that much money for a PS3? I don't think so. Nor do I care for a Wii. There's not a single "next generation" (roflol) console out yet that is appealing. Don't just assume you're all-knowing and think everybody that's anti-X360 is pro-sony.
kkthxbai.
i have every game released for the 360 man i love xtreme firmware
and its not 160 its more like 50 with some of them being ntsc so unless they mean the games that where meant to be released this month.
I was just watching CNN this morning because of the New York Smell thing, and on the ticker it said quote "microsoft claims number one spot in console wars from sony" any opinions on that? Get Lou Dobbs NOW!
anti-X360 + pro-Sony is mostly the case - srry 4 b4; just h8 fanboys : )
what dont u like about the X360 (loud) + PS3 (xpensive)? : )
can u tell me how 2 get xtreme firmware on my X360?

What are you looking for? There's pretty much whatever you're looking for available. The 360 still easily has the most and best games of the new systems.
